1. Torino 2006 Event Symbols

When I searched for symbol designs, nothing really came up, but then I thought to look at Olympic event symbols and looked through alot of them, and remembered the Torino graphics. I love that they are light blue and that the figures aren't one solid color, yet are simple and similar enough to each other that they are unified yet still recognizable and different. They are just all really dynamic and interesting, which I love.

2. Recycle Symbol

I always wondered who designed this symbol because I think that though it's really simple and though you see it all the time, you never really think of it as being so thought through, but I found a site that gave the history and it's pretty interesting. Basically, the CCA (Container Corporation of America) sponsored a contest nationwide for a design symbol that would represent paper recycling and Gary Anderson entered it and won. It is one of the most recognizable symbols around the world, which obviously makes it an amazing design, and I think this solution was definitely the smartest way to go.
